Digi-Pack

Here is the Digi-pack we created for our artist. This includes a Cover, Inlay, Back inlay and the Back...

Front cover...

This is the front cover to our Single. To get this image we took various images with the subject in many different locations, however, as soon as we took this picture, we knew it was the one to use. The "artist" is leaning against a tree looking down, which is quite an emotive pose. We wanted to portray a sense of emotion and relaxation to connote the genre. This ties in with the fonts we chose. For the artists name, Cincere, we chose a bold, eye-catching font to emphasise his masculinity, as we thought this element could perhaps be taken away by the emotive image. However, the font of the song title "My Way Home" is in a handwriting, loose font, which contrasts with the font used for the name of the artist. We did this because after studying and drafting various fonts, this one stood out the most to us and we also felt it connected with the image and portrayed the R&B genre as it is smooth, cool and not too striking. We edited the background image on Photoshop to get rid of the unwanted objects (such as houses and fencing) and add mist in the background in an attempt to make it look more professional and less messy. We got the subject to wear the same/similar clothes as to the ones he wore on the shoot. He wore dark casual clothes, portaying him as dominant, important and cool. We wanted to create a cover in which the viewer could pick up and say that the music was of the R&B genre... Which is something that i think we have achieved.

Inlay...

This inlay image is extrememly strong and creative. We wanted to carry on the theme throughout the whole digi-pack, so we took a serious of images in the same place and when looking through them, we knew this was the one for the inlay. This is a real eye-catching image and expresses real emotion from the point of view of our artist. The setting is key as its misty and relaxed. We used the natural lighting to make the artist look darker than the background of the image, making him look almost like a silouette. This is perfect for an inlay image as it portrays the correct mood for our demographic. Again, we used Photoshop to enhance the image as best as possible to create a tidy look.

Back Inlay...

This is a very simple image of the "artists" feet walking along the grass. We chose this image for the back inlay as it is simple and connects to the title of the song "Find My Way Home"

Back Cover...

Again, like the back inlay, we wanted an image to connect to the song title for our back cover. Therefore, we thought it would be only right to have the "artist" walking away into the distance. We have a perfect image here which completely emphasises the content of the song. It is a sleek image, where we added all the extras that were needed such as a barcode, infomation at the bottom, the name of the record company and the song listings. I really like this image as i think it is strong and looks similar to a pro. CD cover. Again, we used Photoshop to bring out the best of the image and carry the theme on. To make it look professional and realistic, we also added the record labels logo (Def Jam), song listings,Executive producers/managers/co-writers etc, barcode and a website address. We saw this was essential from studying other artists' cds.
